Bollywood actor and superstar Amitabh Bachchan has announced the name of his team (Mumbai) ahead of the inaugural season of the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL). In a video posted by himself on his social media account on X, the team’s chosen name is ‘Majhi Mumbai’.
In December 2023, the 81-year-old announced his association with the Indian Street Premier League (ISPL) as the owner of Team Mumbai. The competition will be India’s first T10 league to be played at a stadium. Six teams will take part in the event – Hyderabad, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Chennai, Kolkata and Srinagar, with 19 matches scheduled to be played.

Ravi Shastri becomes chief mentor of the league
The ISPL also boasts a star-studded lineup on and off the field. Former India head coach Ravi Shastri will serve as the lead mentor for the tournament. Experienced coaches Pravin Amre and Jatin Paranjape will be on the selection committee to ensure a smooth process.
Apart from Amitabh Bachchan, other popular personalities like Kareena Kapoor Khan, Akshay Kumar, Hrithik Roshan, Suriya and Ram Charan have also joined the league.
