Why Dhoni is not allowed to play Legends League Cricket

Former Team India veteran player and Captain Cool Mahendra Singh Dhoni Was considered one of the greatest players of all time. Under his captaincy, India had a chance to win the ICC ODI World Cup trophy for the second time. Dhoni is the first and only captain in the world to make his team champions in three major ICC tournaments. Under his captaincy, India won the ODI World Cup in 2011 and the Champions Trophy title in 2013. Furthermore, India won their first T20 World Cup in 2007 under Dhoni’s captaincy. Why doesn’t Dhoni play Legends League cricket?

As per BCCI rules, no player can play in any foreign league or franchise league (other than IPL) until he breaks his association with the BCCI. To play in a foreign league or franchise league, a player must seek permission from the BCCI. Dhoni has retired from international cricket and no longer takes part in any domestic cricket. However, he was not allowed to play in the Legends League as it is still a part of the IPL. Dhoni is the captain of Chennai Super Kings.

The second edition of Legends League Cricket is currently being played in Ranchi, the capital of Jharkhand. The first five matches will be played at the JSCA Stadium in Ranchi.
