Ind Vs Eng: India Continue Unbeaten Run, Crush England By 100 Runs

India continued their unbeaten run in the World Cup as the hosts moved closer to the semi-finals after defeating defending champions England by 100 runs in Lucknow on Sunday. With the help of captain Rohit Sharma’s 87 runs in 101 balls and Suryakumar Yadav’s 49 runs, India scored 229 runs for nine wickets when invited to bat.

Fast bowler Mohammed Shami (4/22) took four wickets, while Jasprit Bumrah took 3/32 as the Indian fast bowling pair romped to England, who were bowled out for 129 runs in 34.5 overs to slump to their fifth defeat of the tournament.

Spinner Kuldeep Yadav snared two wickets. It was India’s sixth win in the tournament.

Earlier, Shubman Gill (9), Virat Kohli (0), Shreyas Iyer (4) and KL Rahul (39) failed to score big. For England, pacer David Willey grabbed three wickets, while Chris Woakes and spinner Adil Rashid bagged two wickets each.
